Laura Bishop, MA, MSW, LICSW is originally from Upstate New York where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from SUNY Brockport, and a Master of Arts from Saint Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry. Laura then moved to Massachusetts to attend Boston College where she graduated with a Master of Social Work. Laura is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults facing issues such as depression, grief and loss, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, as well as those with difficulty adjusting to life transitions. Laura also has experience in family therapy. She believes in meeting those she works with where they are at and she is comfortable utilizing a variety of styles such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Play Therapy. Laura believes in the client-centered, strength based approach to counseling and is committed to creating a compassionate, safe environment where the seeds of hope and healing can be sewn and cultivated.
